Summer Fun Day | Scrap Our Stash

Hey Scrappy Friends!  I'm here today with another layout!  Can you believe it!?  This is the most I've gotten done in a month in a long time.
This layout was created with an old My Creative Scrapbook Kit (July 2015!), and a sketch from Scrap Our Stash

One of the thing about the Scrap our Stash challenge is you also had to use the work learn.  You had to use one thing for each letter. Mine was L - layers of patterned paper E - enamel dots A - asterisk embellishment - R - raised (puffy) title N - no splatters and natural wood button.

I also used the spotted paper for the dotty challenge over at Southern Girls Challenge blog.

I also am calling this kit killed.  I have learned that when I have to phone a friend and say "Why don't I like this layout, and how do I fix it!?" that I'm done.  Thank goodness all I had left was one full sheet of paper and some scraps.
    Until next time...stay crafty!

Chill Out | CSI

Hey crafty friends!  Let me start today off with a question...how do you write your blog posts.  I'm sitting here today accompanied by Sam and Dean Winchester of Supernatural.  I could watch that series over and over and over...oh wait..I do!
Now the layout I'm blogging about today was created for the September 1st challenge as CSI Case Files.   I used products from the July 2015 My Creative Scrapbook kit.
Beach layout created with Doodlebug and Pebbles supplies
My background paper, which has all the required colors from the case file, is from the Doodlebug  Sunkissed collection.  This paper also fulfills the driving me dotting challenge at Southern Girls.
I think my favorite part of the page though is the Chill Out title from Pebbles Fun In The Sun collection.
For the testimony part of the case file I chose to journal about the differences between our son and daughter on the beach.  It's like night and day!
For the three evidence items I backed my photos with grid paper, used striped button from Shimelle, and have a seagull as an embellishment on the lower left photos.
I really find these cases fun to work because they make me think harder about using my supplies to meet the criteria.  If you join the cases I'd love to see what you create.  Leave me a link.  Until next time...stay crafty!

4Ever Friends | Felicity Jane | Stuck Sketches

Hey Crafty Friends!  My post today is a layout I created for the September 15th sketch over at Stuck Sketches. If you've followed me for any amount of time you know I love Laura's sketches.

Wedding layout created with Felicity Jane Summer kit

I did alter the sketch just a bit moving the photo and adding a cluster up at the top left of the page.  This is the best part about using sketches...you can alter them to make it work the photo, or supplies, you have.

For this layout I again used my Felicity Jane Summer kit.  The flower paper and soft colors made for great wedding layouts.  I do promise though that I have layouts coming up not using the kit....haha So, until next time I'll leave you with another close up of my clusters.  Stay crafty!

2017 | Felicity Jane

Hey crafty friends!  Back today with another page inspired by the sketch challenge at Challenge Yourself.  They always have different challenges, but the one constant is it must include a photo with you in it.  I think that's awesome because we tend to end up behind the camera capturing the memories rather than being on the pages too.
My photo are of hubby and I on our date night during our recent vacation.  We had supper and went on the Haunted Mansion ride.  I've been going to Rehoboth since I was maybe 12 and this was the first time I'd ever been on it.

Everything on the page came from the Felicity Jane Summer kit.  I'm almost done sharing layouts from that kit.  I attached all the die cuts with The Best Glue Ever which is normal, but it also worked really well on the flair.
Really easy page this time, and I appreciate you always checking it out.  I'd love to hear your comments!  Until next time...stay crafty!

Summer Lovin' | Felicity Jane

Hey Scrappy Friends!  I'm back here today with a layout created from the Felicity Jane Summer kit.  I've almost killed this one!
They layout I created today was also used as a short tutorial over at ScraPerfect for my design team spot.  I used The Best Glue Ever and some foam to add dimension to my layout replacing the expensive foam tape I used to use.  Can you see the shadow under the corner of my photo?
I usually start my scrapping with a sketch, but this one I didn't.  I started with what I had left from the kit.  The yellow strips are a branding pieces, and the grid is the washi I received in the kit.  This has to be my favorite washi ever, and I think I've used it in every layout I created from this kit.
After I did the main part of the page the upper left felt quite empty, and honestly look odd.  To combat that I created a cluster using the washi, some of the kit embellishments and some of my homemade enamel dots.
I have also taken to make my splatters with my water brush and inexpensive watercolor set.  I've found that I get better control with the water brush and I can make my color as vibrant or muted by the amount of water I add.  I'm going to try the brush with my color shine next.
Okay...I think that's it for now...back to creating.  Until next time...stay crafty!

Beach Carbs | Felicity Jane

Hey scrappy friends!  I'm here today with a layout inspired by Laura's sketch over at Stuck ? Sketches.  I don't usually do layouts that are all strips as they are a challenge to me, but I figured since I'm challenging myself with the no buy I'd also challenge myself to try sketches that I normally would shy away from.
I'm still working on killing my Felicity Jane Summer kit, and this one was made with branding strips, washi and cut up pocket page cards.
The embellishments were also from the kit, but I added my homemade enamel dots, and one of the doilies that I bought in a pack of 1,000!  Leaving the doily white didn't give it enough umph so I colored it with a Mr. Huey's ink dauber that I received in a Studio Calico kit year and years ago.
The odd title came from a lack of letters left in my kit, but I does fit if you read my journalling.  Every year on the day my parents leave the beach we go for breakfast as a place called Royal Treat.  They have the biggest breakfast I've ever seen, and thick Italian toast...it must be two inches thick.  So the name does fit.
I also turned the turquoise project life card the "wrong way to make the scallops look more like stripes, and I used the black and white stripe branding strip to fit challenge over at Lasting Memories.
Hope you enjoyed reading about my process, and I hope to be back soon with new layouts and even a process video.  I've been so busy just creating that I haven't stopped to filmed anything.  Until next time then...stay crafty!

Happy Little Head | Felicity Jane

Hey Scrappy Friends...Happy September!  I'm starting the month off by participating in Challenge #359 over at Lasting Memories.  The challenge was to use polka dots.  You can use a little or a lot.

In the main photo it's hard to see so I took a close up for you.  I also used a stamp that looks like polka dots.
All of these goodies are from the Felicity Jane Summer kit.  I'm working  on using this one up.  So far I've gotten five layouts from the kit and I have three full sheets of paper left.  I'm hoping to get at least three more layouts from the kit.  My goal for each one is at least eight.
With that said...I'm off to use a new sketch and try to get that kit killed.  Until next time...Stay crafty!
