Easy Summer Camp 1 Page Layout - Guest Designer | Scrap The Boys

Hey Scrappy Friends!  I am so honored to be a guest designer for the Scrap The Boys challenge blog.  This month their challenge is to use a 5x7 photo.  I haven't used anything that large in awhile and let me tell you...when I got the photo back from the printer it seemed HUGE!
The photo is our son all ready for his first field trip that an adult family member wasn't going on with him.  It also wasn't a small place they were going to a very large amusement park that had wet and dry rides....perhaps you've heard of it...Dorney Park and Wildwater Kingdom.  I'll tell you...mom was more nervous than he was.  He had a blast...summer camp has been amazing for him and his energy level.

1 page Summer Camp Scrapbook Layout using Bella Blvd Max scrapbook supplies

On to the page....Since he was wearing black short and bright t-shirt I choose black textured American Crafts cardstock for my base.  I figured the colors would pop off the page better.  The patterned papers I used are from an older Bella Blvd collection called Max. The title and stars came from the 12x12 stickers sheet. The tiny word stickers came from the trinket stickers, but what I'm most excited about is the shark embellishment.  That came from the candid cards which are 2x2 - 4x6 cards that look like they are meant for project life.  I fussy cut the shark to match the shark on his shirt.

I outlined the title in a white Gelly Roll pen, and the doodle border on the star paper is just a thin Sharpe.  Some Dilyussions white linen splatters and some homemade enamel dots and I was done.  This layout only took me about half and hour, and of course I didn't record it.
Well, that's my page for today!  I hope you head on over to the Scrap The Boys blog and play long with this months challenge.  Be sure to let them know Lyne sent you.  Until next time....

Tips For Easy Sparkling Embellishment Creation

Hey Scrappy Friends!  I'm here today with my tip on using transfer foil to create easy and sparkling embellishments.
Prior to join the ScraPerfect team I have never worked with foils, but I saw they had so much potential to help me create tiny embellishments for my pages.  Using glue though I wasn't having great success.  I know the other ladies use it to perfection, but I just couldn't get it even enough for my liking.  Everything was bumpy, and that wasn't what I was going for in this case.
I set them aside and got to thinking.  What could I do to make my adhesive application more even.  I thought about watering The Best Glue Ever down and using a brush, but that was more work than I wanted.  I wanted something quick and easy, and finally it came to me.  My Xyron machine!  I have two, but I used the smaller one to test my idea.

I cut a piece of cardstock to fit...ran it through the machine, and applied the foil.  Look at the perfect, and even, coat of foil on my paper.  I finally had the look I was going for!

I then took the tiny punches I keep on my desk for exactly this sort of thing and went to town.  I now have perfectly covered and smooth embellishments in my extras container using my scrap cardstock.

I now have two perfect ways to use my foil.  Glue for texture and Xyron for smooth.  Hope that gives you a new idea on how to use your foils.

Instasweet | Stuck ? Sketches | Simple Stories

Hey Scrappy Friends!  Back today working with a new collection in my stash buster challenge.  Today I'm working with the Simple Stories Hello Baby collection.  I received a friends remainder of this kit.  She had already made a mini album out of this.  I used her bits and pieces to made two layouts (one already shared here) and a mini album that I'll share later via video.
My inspiration for this layout came from the July 15th sketch over at Stuck?Sketches.  The doily is from the dollar store and I used a scallop punch on the border on the right side. The words cute, love and cupcake were all fussy cute from 2x2 snap squares.  I chose the cupcake as an embellishment because J's dress has a cupcake on it.
This one came together very quickly and I LOVE how it turned out.  Have you been doing any scrapping this summer?  Leave me a comment and I'll drop by to see your creation too.  Until next time...stay crafty!

40th Birthday | Felicity Jane

Hey Scrappy Friends!  Welcome to another Felicity Jane Caroline kit layout. I created this one at the crop I went to using the July 1st sketch by Laura Whitaker for Stuck ? Sketches.

Adult birthday layout featuring the Felicity Jane Caroline kit
I'll admit that this one a challenge for me before it called for a big title...not something I usually use.  The size of the alphabet in this kit though made it a touch easier!
Everything here is from the kit except for the Heidi Swapp color shine (Black Velvet) and the Sharpie Pen I used to outline my letters and do my journaling.  I love how with the kits I don't really need to add anything...just open and go!
I think this is the last layout I will share on the blog.  I have some others as a guest post on P.S. I Love You Crafts and some on my YouTube channel so  be sure to check them out.  Until next time...stay crafty!

How my favorite ink pad was saved

Hey Scrappy Friends!  If you've been following me for a bit you know that I like to find creative uses to use my Best Glue Ever.  I have another one for you today.
My baby girl LOVES my ink pads for some reason.  I have to drag her away from them at least five or six times a day.  Well, before I could get to her the other day she managed to rip my favorite color ink pad apart.
I knew it needed to be a special glue to repair this because I didn't want to compromise the ink.  Best Glue Ever is good for use with foam so I figured I'd give it a try.

Look at how little  glue it took to stick the ink pad versus the original!

I also took the above pictures for you holding the ink pad upside down and sideways to show how well it stuck!  I'm so glad that my favorite color ink pad could be saved since I can't procure these locally.  Keep watching for more creating ways to use the ScraPerfect products.

Together | Felicity Jane | CSI Case File 233

Hey Scrappy Friends!  I'm back today with a layout I completed at the crop I went to a week or so ago using the sketch and color challenge from CSI: Color, Stories, Inspiration.
We needed to use the colors carnation, page sage, sage, white and light yellow.   The colors fit perfectly with my Felicity Jane Caroline kit that I was trying to use up. Most of the colors are easy to see, but the light sage is what is backing my photo.
A sweet brother and sister layout using the Felicity Jane Caroline kit
I also altered the sketch to use just the one large photo rather than two small ones.  I swapped the banner for a just a large solid piece, but still kept the embellishments trailing from one side of the photo to another.  I filled in the trailing embellishments with Heidi Swapp Color Shine in Black Velvet.  I felt like it gave it just the right amount of messy.
Well...I think that's it on this one.  I have a few more layouts from this kit to share as I killed it so until next time...stay crafty!

Smile Little Beauty Scrapbook Layout | Felicity Jane

Hey Scrappy Friends!  Here today with a layout featuring our little beauty Julia.  She just looked so old fashioned and adorable in this outfit that I had to scrap the photo.
I have committed to a year long stash buster challenge and the first kit I choose to kill was my April 2017 Felicity Jane kit.  Be prepared to see lots of Caroline layout coming up.
For this one I choose the light pink as my background and then used my other bits and pieces for layers and accents.

The biggest challenge on this layout for me was the title.  While I love the color of these letters they are over an inch tall.  To not make my title any bigger I paired them with some tiny word stickers by Authentique to get the phrase I wanted.
Quick and easy page...took less than 40 minutes.  Hope you enjoyed and until next time...keep crafting!

How Embellie Gellie Saved My Father's Day

Hey Scrappy Friends!  I wanted to share with you how the Embellie Gellie saved our Father's Day.   I make my own enamel dots and received on order for over 1,000 the Saturday of Father's Day.  I needed have them shipped Monday, and I didn't have all the colors on hand.
I went ahead and made a ton of colors, but they still needed to be packed.
Normally I do this all by hand and it takes me forever.  With my Embellie Gellie though I was able to go in and pick up just the colors I was looking to pack.
I was able to pack my whole order while still spending time at the park with my family and having a cook out with my Father.
What could have taken hours and hours with Embellie Gellie took no time at all.  Thanks for saving my Father's Day!

Quick And Easy Last Minute Fourth of July Crafts

So it's July 3rd (Happy Birthday to my little sister), and you haven't started your paper crafts for tomorrow yet!!! I have a few quick and easy items that will help make your party festive without a ton of time, and using supplies your probably already have in your stash.
Last Minute 4th of July Decorations

First up is some small flags that have a variety of uses and a card from the P.S. I Love You Crafts. How cute would the card be done on a singe sheet with your menu printed on the back!?

Patriotic Card

I also love this silverware holder from Creatively Homemade.  Not only is this an easy way to add some festivity to your party, but it helps your guests.  We all have sat down as a picnic and realized we missed a piece or silverware or didn't have any.  What may to make your guests more comfortable than take all the work of it for them.
4th of July Silverware Holder

Food fun kids has a great confetti popper idea. I can see these being great for little ones that you don't want to give sparklers too, or in areas where fireworks aren't allowed.

This Momma Loves has several vase decorations that if you have older kids they could make for you.  What's a better time saver than that!  Quiet kids and some decorations...win win

Finally for you I have a wreath from Creatively Homemade.  The pinwheels can be used on the wreath or image them on sticks for decorations or attached to paper straws for kids drinks. Super fun!
