Pocket Letter Crazy

Have you caught the pocket letter craze?  I swore I wasn't going too, but I have...they are so nice to put together when you're stuck in your scrapping or card making.  I also loved having pen pals as a kid so this feels like the adult version.  I also can complete one in about an hour so if I get up early I can get one done before work.
This is only the second pocket letter I've made, and I really hope to work up to the quality of some of the amazing work I've seen.  This one I made using the old Studio Calico Camelot Kit.  I still have tons of these kits laying around and have found them great for my pocket letters because even if the stuff is/isn't my taste it may be my partners.
So what do you think of my second try?  Want to become pocket pals...message me!

Cool Kid Layout

I'm up today with another sketch reveal for ScrapMuch?.  I really loved this sketch right away, and got right to work...until I was time to embellish.  It took me just as long to embellish as everything else.  Here's the sketch:

And here is how I interpreted it:
I promise that the photo really isn't blurry, but the paper is so very light in color.  The collection is from My Mind's Eye called Boy Crazy.  I used the 12x12 paper and the 6x6. I also used the accompanying stamps.  The cool kid title is from Heidi Swapp and I colored it with an Avery Elle ink pad and them embossed it with clear powder from Ranger.  The bottle cap inside I made my with my epiphany craft machine...some ink splatters...washi and enamel dots complete the look.
Despite having some embellishing trouble I am really happy with how it came out.  I look forward to see your take on the sketch.  Until next time...Keep scrapping!

Dots and Spots Birthday Card

Good Morning everyone and welcome to another reveal for Southern Girls Challenge. This time we were asked to create something with dots or spots.  Here is the card I created...

This is actually one of eight cards I created. I gave a one sheet wonder template a try and was completely stoked with my results.  The paper is a from a Hampton Arts collection called Playlist...the exact paper is called Volume. I used this paper not only for the dots/spots, but because with all the different colors the cards can now be used for a male or female recipient.
The stamp is from a old CTMH collection stamped with Memento ink in Tuxedo Black.  The punch is a standard scalloped circle, but I believe mine is from Stampin Up.
I hope you come join our dots and spots challenge, and I'd love to hear if you ever used a one sheet wonder template and what you thought of the results.  Until Next time...Keep Scrapping!

Mr. Smiley Layout

Yup...Back again with another Lasting Memories layout reveal.  This time we were asked to create a layout about someone or something that is beautiful to us.  Since hubby was last time I had to do a layout of our son this time :-)
I used a freebie sketch from Scrapbook Generations for this layout since I haven't done a double pager in forever.  I also did something I don't normally do on this layout...mixed manufacturers.  The paper is from Carta Bella's line Boy Oh Boy, the journalling card is from Fancy Pants Be Different, and the two text embellishments are from JilliBean Soup Could as Cucumber Soup.
The story behind the layout shows exactly our sons personality...see all the smiles in the photos...he had a double ear infection and a 104 degree fever.  Even now, at four, he tries so hard to be smiley all the time no matter what is going on..well unless he's over tired.  I really hope this continues as he grows up as a positive outlook will help him in life.
   Until next time...Keep Scrapping!

Scrap Friends Layout

I am so excited to be sharing my first layout for the ScrapMuch? design team.  Laura also has the best sketches, and I'm honored to be part of a team showing them off.  Here is the first sketch I was given to work with:
And here is my take:
The photos are from the first time I had the pleasure of meeting my scrappy friend Stacia for a painting part she organized...what fun!  I used Simple Stories 24/seven collection and some misc enamel dots.  I created the embellishment cluster in the top right using the epiphany craft machine and a flattened bottle cap...it looks so cool in person.
So tell me what you think of my take and I can't wait to see what you come up with.  Until next time...Keep Scrapping!

National Scrapbook Day Blog Hop

Happy NSD all!  We are totally excited that you’ve joined us this weekend for this extra special blog hop.  SpiegelMom Scraps and the Southern Girls Challenge Blog owners and Design Teams have united and are aspiring to inspire YOU!  This hop has such wide variety of paper crafting styles and media being used that it’s sure to knock your socks off.  You should have arrived from Louise's blog.  Didn't you love her project!?
For my project I created a family mini album for you.  I created this from scratch starting with plain white cardstock, and will be used as part of a swap for the Facebook swap group a friend and I run.  The papers are ones I've had in my stash for years...really trying to work on using those up! Here is a photo of the outside, and I have a video (here) for you of it all opened up.

Next up on the hop you should find Neha and her wonderful mixed media page.  Before you go though please follow me using bloglovin, and I'd be over the moon if you'd follow my facebook page too...links are on the right hand side of the blog.  Thanks so much for your comments and until next time...Keep Scrapping!
