Studio Calcio You and Me Layout

I have really been challenging myself to use my Studio Calico kits, even though they haven't been my normal style. This was the Camelot kit from I believe June. Except for the names I ended up really loving how this came out.  I loved up right up until I added my handwriting...anyone else have that problem?
Since I was outside my comfort zone I went searching all over for inspiration and man did I find it.  Sketch #75 over at Let's Capture Our Memories was my main starting point. Laura Whitaker really hit it out of the park for me on this one.  I loved how simple it was and the doily...was just calling my name.  I took a plain white doily and misted it with Tattered Angels spray.
I was also inspired by the Challenge Yourself blog idea of having yourself in the photo with one of the men in your life.  I am rarely in our pictures so I love the idea of this blog.
I also want to enter this into Crafty Girl's Challenge - Anything goes. I appreciate finding new places to show off my creations.
So what have you been working on?  Until next time - keep scrappin!

ScrapStuffz Inspired By Summer

Hi everyone - I'm here today with another Scrapstuffz Inspired By reveal to inspire you to enter our June challenge.  When I saw the inspiration photo I knew exactly what I wanted to do.   I used a sketch from my stash, but have learned that I need to start writing down where I got them since I blog now and want to give proper credit where due.  I used the photos of our favorite summer spot, and the Echo Park Paradise Beach Collection.  I have gotten many many layouts out of that collection, and it's probably one of my favorite summer ones.
Oh - sorry for the bad picture - it's past my bed time and we have to be up early for a trip tomorrow. Until next time - keep scrapping!

Southern Girls Die Cuts and Punches Reveal

Time for another fun reveal at Southern Girls Challenge.  Your challenge this time is to use punches and die cuts...which for me isn't a challenge at all!
I completed a two page layout and used a border punch to anchor my photos and die cut circles to bring your eyes around the page.
I used a sketch as my starting point, but it's one that has been in my stash forever and I don't know where it came from  :-( I also was challenged by the Lasting Memeories blog to use shades of blue and white. The plain paper is actually subtly shimmery in person so it's a nice contrast to the pattern paper.
That's it for now!  Until next time - keep scrapping!

All Boy Card

Hey Everyone - I'm back two days in a row!  This morning my father and I were taking my son somewhere special so I didn't have to leave as early as normal, and I decided to make a quick card for the Sketch~n~Scarp card challenge, the Sister Act Card Challenge "Anything Goes", and the Craft Your Passion Boys challenge. Can you tell I love the Sketch~N~Scrap sketches - they always challenge me to use what I have!
I used one of my favorite collections from Echo Park - All Abut A Boy.  I cut the banners and arrow by hand, and then used an embossing folder for the background.  The dots are pearl pens...another favorite product of mine.
I've been on such a roll lately that I'm wondering when the mojo is going to end :-)  Until next time - keep scrapping!

Best Day Ever Layout

When I saw the new sketch over at Sketch~N~Scrap, and the Old Is New challenge at A Cherry On Top  I knew right away what products I was going to use, and even what pictures.  I think this was one of the fastest layouts I've ever done.
I used the Simple Stories Sn@p Him collection, and my first cut from my new Silhouette.  I don't do pocket scrapbooking, but have several card collections to use for layouts like this. The chevron down the side is modeling paste mixed with some acrylic paint and put through a Tim Holtz stencil.  I need some practice on this technique, but I really love how it comes out, and the depth it gives my layout!
I'll be back soon with more new layouts.  Until then - keep scrapping!
