Kraftie Kre8ations Pop-Up Halloween

Happy Halloween everyone.  Today is my day to inspire you as part of the Kraftie Kre8ations design team.  We were tasked with either making a pop-up Halloween card or a 3-D Halloween layout.  If you've read my previous Halloween entries you'll know that we don't "do" Halloween so a layout was out, and I'd never made a pop-up card...well I learned pretty quickly!

I had recently purchsed a wonderful paper piercing from Scrap'n With Flair, and she graciously included the Hallowen items as a bonus.  At the time I didn't know what I was going to do with them, but since I knew I'd never make anything Halloween of my own I stuck them in a safe place until the right time...now!
I added some washi tape to mimick a spider coming down it's web, added some stickles, and viola!  I used another of her Halloween items as the pop-up inside my card.
Did you make any Halloween items this year?  If you did leave me a link and I'll come check them out.

ScrapStuffz Fall Blog Hop

Hi everyone, and welcome to the ScrapStuffz Inspired By Hooray for Fall Blog Hop.  If you arrived here from Stephanie's blog you're in the right place.  If you got lost along the way head back over to the ScapStuffz blog to start over.
We were given an inspiration photo this month as well as an awesome sketch provided by Brenshevia.  Each item was so wonderful that you could have done an awesome layout with either one, but combine them and you have something stupendous!
I was inspired in the photo by the pumpkins and leaves.  I finally pulled out the photos from M's first trip to the pumpkin patch.  He was eleven months old at the time and is now about a month from being three!!  I used quilled leaves I purchased from a lady on Facebook (wish I could remember who to send you there), Epiphany crafts round epoxy punch, Kiwi Lane Designs templates, and Echo Park's Fall reflections.

Want to play along with us?
1. Leave a comment on each blog along the hop.
2. Create a LO inspired by the photo and using the sketch, post it using our link up by NOV 1.

Get Inky Stamps Halloween Challenge Inspiration

Hi everyone.  I'm back with another inspiration post for Get Inky Stamps by Blue Moon Creations.  Their challenge right now is Halloween with buttons.
I will admit that this was a very big challenge for me since we don't "do" Halloween.  I wasn't even sure where to begin.
I used the Halloween Boo digi stamp cutting the Boo out for the front, and leaving the Happy Halloween for the inside. I used my Copics and glitter to make the boo exciting.  I also used a chicken wire stencil, and glimmer mist, hoping to create a spider web like texture in the background.
I hope this inspires you to join the challenge, and I look forward to seeing your creation.

Sketch~N~Scrap - October 15th Challenge

When I started this blog, less than a year ago, I never imagined how many cool websites, blogs, companies and people I'd get to work with.
The ScrapStuffz Etsy Store is sponsoring the October 15th challenge at Sketch~N~Scrap so we were given the chance to be "guest" designers if we had the time.  How fun!
We were given this fabulous sketch to work with. There were so many different things you do with this even though it had some October themed items on it.

I chose to follow the layout of the items, but go with a completely different theme.  I did want to keep some of the distinct elements of the sketch so I worked in the arrows and the chevron.  You can't tell but the green washi directly above the arrow has arrows as well.
I hope this inspires you to hop on over to their blog, and enter their challenge.  A big thank you to Sketch~N~Scrap for letting me play along with them!

Kraftie Kre8ations Girl Power Pink

October is Breast Cancer awareness month so for the  Kraftie Kre8ations design team we were asked to make/alter a box, in pink, and fill it with encouragement for someone who's been through any type of cancer.
I chose to make my box, embellish it, and leave a blank spot for when I decided to who to encourage with it.  I also made an itty bitty mini to write the encouragement in.  Oh...the box also holds a few chocolates because that cheers anyone up.  I didn't feel like the pictures did the box and album justice so make sure to check out my video too.

Mess Maker Layout

If you saw my ScrapStuffz October Reveal this is the matching page to the layout, and I think I actually like it better than the first one!  If you haven't seen it's companion you can find it: Here
I tried a technique I saw on your tube for creating the photo frame using half circles.  While the tutorial showed using all patterned paper I chose to use two patterns and two solids to give it a less busy effect.
The title comes from my little ones shirt, but applies very well as he fell asleep having a bottle and there is milk dribbling down his chin.  I'm sure he'll love this photo when he's older...haha
The splatters, stars and asterisk type items are embossed using red and black to match the washi and thicker title.
Have you tried any new techniques lately?  Leave me a comment and I'll come check them out.

Get Inky Fall Inspiration

If you are looking for the Kiwi Lane blog hop - it's the next post down.
I am so excited to be showing you my first guest designer creation for Get Inky Stamps by Blue Moon Creations.  This was my first time using digital stamps, and I sprang for some Copics too!  Their challenge right now is to use fall colors.

I used the Funky Flower digi set, and my sentiment was from the Sailboat set. I loved with the flower set that you got four of the same shape flower, but that each one was a different pattern inside.  It made them all interesting, but still co-hesive.  I used three different colors of copics as well as some random brads and gems that I had in my stash.
Will you be linking up for their challenge?  I'd love if you followed me to see all my new ideas!  I have all my links in the upper right corner.  Thanks again!

Kiwi Lane Blog Hop

Welcome to the Kiwi Lane blog hop.  You should have arrived here from La-Vie's blog.  If you  happen to get lost along the way you can always head back to Kiwi Lane's blog for the complete blog order.
I am very excited to be included in the hop, and couldn't wait to see what designer templates I'd get to work with.  I was graciously sent the Tiny Holiday and Abbie Road Mini sets.  I think the Tiny Holiday set could be used on both cards and layouts.  The Abbie Road is definitely geared more towards cards, but I could see using them as boarders for journalling or certain pictures on a layout.  The products really are very versatile.
Since National Card Making Day is during the hop, and there is a fun challenge at Kiwi Lane in honor of that, I made two different cards.  Be sure you check the challenge out, and get in on the fun!
My first card is very clean and simple.  I used one of the borders and the ornament from the holiday set.   I wanted to show how easy the sets are to use for different ideas, so I turned the ornament upside down and turned them into balloons.  The balloons have some stickels on them for a bit of interest, and I used twine for the balloon strings.

For my second card I wanted to have less white space so I used both the A and B sides of the borders, but cut them in different spots.  I then tucked on pumpkin under part of the boarder and popped the other up with foam dots.  A few fall stickers and I was good to go.  There is a lot of depth and interest, but with the  matching waves it doesn't look overly busy...I love it!
Do do you want to get a chance to use the awesome KLD templates!?  Of course you do!  All you have to leave is leave a comment on the blogs along the way, and a random winner will get a $25 gift certificate to the shop.  Winner to be announced October 10th on their blog.  Good Luck!
Thank you so much for joining us.  I'm glad you're here!  I hope you'll follow my blog and Facebook page to see more of my creations.  Now head on to Jennifer's blog to see her awesome work.

ScrapStuffz "Inspired By" October Reveal

Time for another great project brought to you by ScrapStuffz Inspired By Challenge blog. This month as we really get into the swing of fall there are so many ways you could choose to go with the inspiration picture.
The colors in this picture are lovely, but the wood of the barn and the shape of the doors were where I got my inspiration from most.  I used a wood grain paper and burlap for the barn inspiration, and cut my photos similar to the shape of the doors. I created the arch to mimic the roof and the the vines.
The little bubble in the center of the arch is a sticker that is attached to the top of an arrow.  When you pull it up out comes another picture of the event we were at, and on the back in my journalling.  I've really been enjoying lately trying to find ways to hid other pictures or journalling.
So how does this picture inspire you?  Be sure to link up with us over the blog for your chance to win a prize!  This months prize is a set of corrugated thickers in traditional Halloween colors.  I can't wait to see what you create.
