Kraftie Kre8ations Winnie The Pooh Frame

September is National Honey month and Kids Creative Week is this week as well. The KK8 DT was challenged to create a card, layout or project that had kids and Winnie the Pooh. We all know Pooh loves his honey and that no kid can resist that lovable huggable bear...Winnie the pooh.
Winnie is not something I would normally choose to work with so this was a bit of a challenge for me. I also went to the local craft store and they have two Winnie the Pooh stickers...nothing else! After quite a bit of thinking I borrowed the Winnie the Pooh cricut cartridge from a friend and come up with the following altered frame.
I used a 99 cent two sided from from Ikea and cut the honey pot from the cartridge. I then placed the pooh sticker to look like he was holding the pot up. The front is also from the cartridge. It worked perfectly for the hospital photo I used of our little honey since he was in blue the day they took the photos. Who am I kidding...he was in blue everyday for like the first year of his life. He looks wonderful in baby blue!

I challenge you join the design team, and to share your creation over on the KK8 blog. One lucky winner will even win a prize.

Kraftie Kre8ations Fall Blog Hop

Fall is such a beautiful time of the year, it’s when the leaves start changing colors and everything around us is beautiful. It is also the season of Thanksgiving, which reminds us to take a moment to reflect on all the things we are most thankful for.
We were asked to create a project using at least four of the five fall colors given.  It also needed to be either fall related or have something to do with being thankful.
I created a gift bag out of four tags using the colors and fall stamps.  The larger leaves and pumpkins are a Stampin' Up set Paisley Prints.  The smaller items I stamped with Denami's Autumn Set that I then colored with a blender pen and my stamp pads.  I scored it and attached with red line tape.  To make the handle I just tied a length of ribbon in each of the opposing tag wholes.  Really simple to do.
To give you an idea of how big it is I placed a bottle of glimmer mist in the bag.  As you can see it just barely peaks out the top, and it does wiggle side to side.  I think if you were going to a swap or white elephant scrapbook event it would be the perfect gift.
Now make sure you head on over to the Kraftie Kre8ations blog to link up your creation using the fall palette. KK8 is also giving away a prize during the hop. One lucky hopper will receive a gift.  All you have to do is:

  1. Visit each blog
  2. Leave each one a comment
  3. Follow the KK8 blog
That's it! I heard tell that some blogs in the hop are even offering prizes beyond what Kraftie Kre8ations is!  Oh, and look up the group on facebook too as we have games and swaps on there regularly.  Next,  make sure to visit Becki

ScrapStuffz "Inspired By" September Reveal

So can you believe it's September already!?!?  Beside cooler days and the return of school the beginning of September means another challenge over at the ScrapStuffz "Inspired By" blog. So the inspiration photo for this month gave me a bit of trouble.
At first all I could see was the food, and I could figure out what direction to go in with that.  I put it aside for a few days and came back to it.  Then it hit me....I can use the colors!
The paper has the green, yellow and orange in it.  When I get new ink for the printer my journalling with go on the tag in purple.  I made the flowers myself using different size scalloped circles, inked and joined with a color co-ordinating brad.  The kicker about the whole thing...the photos I used ended up both being about food!
So...what direction does the photo inspire you to take?  You have the whole month to link your entry, but don't forget that you have to tell us what part of the photo inspired your layout.  Oh, and of course we have a prize graciously provided by the ScrapStuffz Etsy store.
